We are a group of 8 college students at The University of Texas at Austin. As part of the millennial generation, we see the world differently than anyone else. We saw the rise of the internet, cell phones, web 2.0 technology, social networking online, and other things that now seem commonplace. Because of this, our different perspective on the world gives us unique goals, dreams and aspirations that we want to share with the world. You may agree with some of them, you may think others are a waste of time. In the end you might want to try some out, and if you do, tell us about it.
About the bloggers

Laura C.
Laura is a senior multimedia journalism and government double major. She is particularly interested in how the new web 2.0. is affecting society and changing the way we think and live our lives. Topics of extreme obsession to her include the environment, liberal politics, human rights, and international relations. Yes, you could call her a hippie, but she prefers the term ‘naturalista.’ After graduation, she plans to relocate to the Washington, D.C. metro area where she would love to work for a media outlet or non-profit. She also maintains a personal blog, where she writes about her adventures in wedding planning and design.
Mollie B.
Mollie is a junior broadcast journalism major who made her way to Austin from small-town East Texas as fast as she could (and we mean small…population 1,384). Mollie loves Longhorn Football, exploring Austin, and being outside as much as possible. Saturdays in the fall are her favorite because they mean one thing…college football all day long! After graduation, Mollie plans to go wherever a job will take her (while avoiding the northern parts of the country because she says it’s entirely too cold). Her current career goal is to one day work as a sideline reporter for ESPN.
Briana C.
Briana is a junior broadcast journalism major from Houston, Texas (go rockets! I still believe…). Bri (for short) enjoys dancing, girl talking, reading, and trying new things, but she is particularly passionate about politics, the global black community and its distinct culture, and journalism. After graduation, she would like to use her degree to change how the media typically displays minorities, and use a broadcasting outlet to uplift historically disenfranchised communities.
Malorie P.
Malorie is a senior broadcast journalism student and will be graduating in December. She came from the ‘burbs of Richardson, Texas, headed out west to Tech in Lubbock where she realized that a UT Longhorn was more fitting. She is very passionate about getting to know people and especially about their life stories. She loves dancing, especially two-stepping, live music, road trips and doing anything random late-night. She gets excited about almost anything and will laugh at the drop of a hat! She is unsure of what she wants to do in the future, but hopefully it’s something that involves her getting to know people and helping them in some way. She is applying to non-profits and different media outlets in Dallas and is faithful that she will end up where she is needed!
Caroline P.
Caroline is a print journalism senior and will also be graduating in December. She has lived in Austin since she was born, so it’s hard for her to imagine living anywhere else (as great), but wants to move to New York City after graduation to write for a magazine or newspaper. Writing feature and human interest stories are her passion and her dream job would be to work for a travel magazine. Her friends call her “CP” or “Tina” – the root of that nick name is a long story – and she loves her family and friends, Tex-Mex, spending time outside and on the lake in Austin, kids, wine, traveling, faith, pretty much anything Mac and being really busy/multi-tasking!
Holley N.
Holley graduates from UT in December with a degree in broadcast journalism. She may have moved to Austin’s city limits and as a result bleed burnt orange, but she will always be an east Texas girl at heart. She is slightly obsessed with news and all things journalism (Web, print and broadcast). When she is not reporting, anchoring or producing for Texas Newswatch (a UT produced newscast), she is updating her blogs. She thinks the Web 2.0 phenomenon has altered the world of traditional journalism as we know it, and it is up to journalists to discover their role in this new frontier. As for future plans, Holley dreams of being a reporter and anchor for network news, and she is ready to work her way up!
Kristin is a senior, graduating in May, from snowy Aspen, CO. She is an avid golfer and skier. She moved to Austin to go to the University of Texas and play golf. She’s loved her time here in the city and experiencing the new culture and surroundings of Texas. Kristin has always been a fan of adventures. She has always been drawn to technology and computers as well as writing and photography (and sports and music and movies, among other things) so she hopes to combine as many of them as possible in her future.
